A skirt for me

I've been wanting to make make myself a nice longer skirt for winter and when I saw this lovely embroidered velvety material on the clearance table at Spotlight I thought it would be perfect.
skirt on it's own.

worn by me. (thanks go to Jordan for the photography!)

The pattern I used.

I decided to do the size 12, even though I'm normally a size 10, but thought I'd make it the next size up as I could always take it in if needed. It could probably go in a little bit, but I like the way it sits a bit lower on my waist and it is nice and comfortable! I had a terrible time doing the zip and it does sit a little bit funny if you really look closely, I may just be being picky, but I figured that I'm not running around wearing midriffs so you can't see it anyway!

Think I'd better get back to making stuff for the boys now, I have some lovely velvet cord here that will look great as some thick winter pants for them. So I guess that's a project for next week!

Wowsers Natalie, you look gorgeous in that skirt!
I have the same bargain fabric from SL. It really is lovely but I had no idea what to do with it. I may just copy you and make myself a skirt too.
